Sun and Art

Hello everyone :)

First things first : SPRING FINALLY ARRIVED IN LONDON!
January and February have been so though, so cold and it even snowed, all in all it was just terrible. But luckily it is getting warmer and warmer.

I didn't do much over the week, I went to school and worked as much as always. On Friday I went with my little monkey in the cinema to see Shaun the sheep, because her parents evening was excellent, so we decided that a little treat would be more than required. The movie was brill, I had to laugh some much about this cheeky sheep.

On the weekend I went to a lot of museums and I enjoyed the sun in the  Hyde Park.
Fiona and me went to the Saatchi Gallery, which is a private collection of Mr. Saatchi, who made a fortune out of advertisement. This gallery is full of British, modern art like Damien Hirst. It was very interesting and I would recommend it to everyone. After this we went into the National Gallery, which is very impressive. The building on its own is beautiful and it hosts a lot of very popular paintings like the sunflowers of Van Gogh.

The next day I met up with my pal from Germany Annika to have a catch up, she is involved in a very interesting volunteer project, have a look at her blog :

I also went with Fiona the other day into the exhibition ' Beard' in the Somersethouse. This exhibition is about men/ women who are embracing their beards and how the beard became mainstream. We also went for a lovely walk and picnic in the Hyde Park and the Green park, which were both crowded with people who enjoyed the sun :)

So I hope you all had a sunny weekend as well,
Pauli xxx
P.S There are only 18 weeks left until I will leave London. this definitely freaks me out a lot. I have the feeling I have to see so much more and to experience all of it. Hopefully I can do this the 18 left weeks. And sorry for this horrible quality of the pictures but I couldn't be bothered to take my proper camera with me so these are only Iphone 4 s shots.

SISTERTIME

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooo everyone

sorry for my lack of posts but I was lucky and I got tonsillitis again and I couldn't really do anything for two weeks. But stuff like this happens if you're only wearing a leather jacket when you're out partying ( intelligent me). But I can definitely recommend the club we've been too, it was amazing. It's called fabric and is located in east London, it's quite expensive, but you can party ( which is something rather special in London) until 5 o'clock and we saw the fabulous Dj Netsky live.

Because of me tonsillitis I wasn't doing anything special like 3 weeks to relax and cure it so, half-term just begun and because I had free time, my little sister came 'round to visit me.We did sooooo much, like the whole touristic things and we ate so good and much food, it is unbelievable. I had a brilliant time, although sometimes you don't get on with your siblings, me and her were quite relax.
So I picked her up at the crack of dorm at the London City Airport. I had to get up at 5! o'clock. I can really recommend the London City Airport, because it is very small so you can't get lost so easily, which is lovely because in comparison London Heathrow is  for me just a blooming maze.
We went straight pack had breakfast and we started our trip.
I first showed her around all the touristic things, which you can go round very nicely. We started at Piccadilly Circus went through China Town towards the Trafalgar Square then to the Bucking Ham Palace then to the London Eye and that we walked around Southwark around the Oxo Tower towards the Millennium Bridge to St. Paul's Cathedral.
After this we were quite hungry so we went for dinner to (in my opinion the best burger ) Five guys
 http://www.fiveguys.com/home2014/index_us.html.
They make the burger in front of you and they are just delicious and Lilli ( my sister) was very pleased after it.
The next day we went to the Brick Lane to eat some delicious street and to look at some street art, which is incredible in the Brick lane / Shoreditch Area.

There was also an amazing market in the streets as well additional to the one which is inside some food buildings and we ate the best sugar gluten and milk free brownie ever, we also went as well to one of  my favorite coffee shop in whole London. It's quite hard to find a good coffee shop in London because British people definitely have no clue about coffee in the first place, but there are some gems with awesome coffee.

The last two days we went to the wembley park outlet center, which is boring and not even worth to talk about. We also went to the Abbey Road, which is just 5 minutes away from my home by bus. We signed on the huge wall and afterwards we went to the Tower Bridge to see it in the dark.We also went to Camden, but it rained horribly so we went quite quick home.
We spent the last day with beauftiful weather on the Tower Bridge, which has a glass window floor in it which is amazing, and quite cheap as long as you are a student.
I really enjoyed my time with my sister. Ich hab dich lieb Lillibelle. <3

Hello again, first Trip out of London and Borough Market

Hello and welcome back :)

I had two amazing weeks back at home and now I'm 'home' again now since two weeks. To be fair I didn't do anything really interesting but my family was moaning at every Christmas meet up about my lack of posts, so now here we go.

Beside that my flight towards London was horrible, because we weren't allowed to start because of the weather conditions and the actually horrible turbulences all the flight long in the air, I was really happy to e back in London by my host family who picked me up at the airport and made a sunday roast dinner for my arrival. It's unbelievable but I really think that L. grew over the time I was away! She is nearly turning 9 this month its unbelievable. All in all the time is flying, I have just 6 months left in London, which is so few time :(

Last weekend the girls and me Isi (https://meinjahrinlondon.wordpress.com/) Fiona (
http://fionasaupairjahr.blogspot.co.uk/) Michelle and Luise met up ( finally after 4 month all together , what a miracle)!
It was the first time we all went with the train outward from London which was quite exciting but everything is so lovely easy with journeys in London. The only thing which wasquite annoying, was, that the ticket machine decided to give us our whole 60 pounds in coins back, because it didn't wanted to print out our tickets.
But after we sorted everything out we arrived half an hour later in Reading, a nice and small city. It was a lovely day and I really enjoyed being round all this nice girls.

This weekend we ( Luise, Isi and Fiona) went to Borough Market. Borough Market is one of the oldest food markets in London, you can get everything there. It is located next to the London Bridge and the Shard and we just ate a fabulous Brownie. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borough_Market

The weather is horrible right now it sooooooo cold and it even snowed yesterday morning and it got under minus degrees, hopefully it will be better next week.

See you soon xxx
